FBG it's pointless pressing for answers as you'll never get the truth or the answer you probably have an inclination to.
After 3 years going on 4 I think it's time to accept the fate of this dream gone sour. The majority of posters know the truth but it just keeps getting thrown back at them perpetually. When was the last time the club caught the news with a political statement such as pre 2015. Answer is none. They have made enemies of some of the press who gave us the right publicity.
I have no hope whatsoever of redeeming what was taken away. God knows what they'll do when the power trip gets tedious. I'm leaving them to it. I'll probably post every now and again as this forum is much livelier than the toxic one as they now write about how the team isn't performing. No political stuff at all. Obviously been brainwashed or been forced away.
The whole thing is rather pointless and meaningless now.
Can you elaborate on why it's "pointless and meaningless"? 2,000 plus FC supporters turned up yesterday to watch a relegation threatened side. Despite the result it was a good atmosphere, it was affordable, there was some decent pre match entertainment, there were lots of kids enjoying themselves, we played well, we applauded a losing side off the pitch. I don't think many who were there think FC is pointless and meaningless.
There's a kid who's came through the academy who's just signed a professional contract for the next 3 and a half years. Do you think he thinks FC is pointless and meaningless?
Do the folk who turned up on Christmas Day,the kids who got toys or the charities which got stocks replenished think FC is pointless and meaningless? Read the community reports - there's still a lot going on.
What did we set out to become? First and foremost somewhere for United supporters to go on a Saturday. Haven't we achieved that? We're the only protest against the Glazers (despite our debt burden being the road to ruin) which has any real meaning.
So, tell me why it's pointless? Because David Conn's not penning a piece about fans winning the league or opening a ground? We're scratching around at the bottom of a league hamstrung by ridiculous debts that we signed up to in a Moston or bust policy. It perhaps becomes difficult to laud a club which shot itself in the foot in the pursuit of building a ground we could never afford.
Imagine how good FC would have been now if the PM would have carried out his campaign ethically, with dignity and without the despicable act that were, and still are, his trademark!! Add a great undivided atmosphere, 2000 extra supporters and all those original volunteers and Directors who worked tirelessly towards a common aim whilst a certain "gentleman" was nowhere to be seen and, irrespective of results on the field, what would you now have???
Sad but alas true.
