Increased the beer contract with Holt's by 386 percent for one.. Looking less of a success by the minute this contract. I bet they won't have any more pictures taken with him now they know his background. And what do they know about his background other than the contents of one newspaper article from more than a decade ago? This is pretty desperate muck raking. <NAME REMOVED by Admin> and <NAME REMOVED by Admin> will be proud of you.

Leaving to one side what is or isn't muck raking here can you show me some evidence where you have made the same point to the Puppet Master? I'm prepared to bet on what the answer will be.

Nope, but I've not seen any behaviour which is quite as desperate as logging in to the official forum as 'Board' in order to post a link to a historic misdemeanour because somebody made a comment at an AGM or using the same modus operandi to discredit somebody who is clearly working hard for the club simply because you're pining for a discredited regime. As for the brewery deal, I've no idea. As I suggested the other day, if you have a question why not raise it on the member's forum? People tend to get answers these days. You obviously prefer to spread rumour and doubt on here which probably says a lot about your willingness to help the club move forward.

I haven't a clue what that first paragraph is on about.
I asked you about the deal as you were the one to bring it up first to praise Adrian Seddon for it.

I was (perhaps clumsily) making the point that I find dragging up very old misdemeanours in an attempt to discredit people quite desperate and distasteful. There was an incident on the member's forum and now we have people dragging up Adrian's past for no reason whatsoever. I'm not sure I was the first person to bring the deal up? I think I said he was making a better fist of the commercial side than his predecessors and I think that's fair. We have marketing materials, we have the brewery deal, we have sold a reasonable number of hoardings, we have all players sponsored, we have retained MX Data as a sponsor despite <NAME REMOVED by Admin> best efforts and we may even get a main sponsor. I'm all for us holding the Board to account when required but there doesn't appear to be any justification for the name calling and criticism on here.

The lack of self awareness in this comment over how this standard behaviour (both publicly known and privately not revealed) has been legitimised for 19 months now, with barely a whimper of adverse comment or efforts to control. Would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

So you're basically saying the events of the last 19 months legitimise contributors to this forum attempting to discredit a current board member regardless of him presumably not playing any part in the behaviour you're offended by? I think I'll just leave you chaps to be bitter amongst yourselves. If you decide to move on, there's a club in danger of going bust that we could all do well to get behind.

I am saying that snide behaviours and character assassination have been allowed to happen without any word or action against it by too many people. who should know better.
Be it because they are too scared to counter it (if* they believe it to be wrong and to the detriment of the unity of the club) or because it suited them to get rid of incumbent board members as it gave them a free run to a place on the board, like the main person being discussed on this thread.
* feel free to give your opinion on how silence to actions has legitimised and indeed significantly lessened the goodwill between the ever dwindling fans. See Edmund Burke quote about evil.

You don't seem to understand that a large group have left due to intimidation. People stopped going because they feared for their safety in some cases and in others just didn't want to put up with the hassle of it anymore.
You seem incapable of seeing the difference between this and the issue of others supposedly leaving because they were disenchanted.
The disenchanted ones should surely be happy now because the board resigned, a number of staff left and long standing volunteers have packed it in. Yet numbers and income is way down still so your argument doesn't stand up. This is because the basis of running the club is now intolerance backed up by intimidation of those who won't tow the line.
I seriously doubt if the club as it stands is worth saving anymore. It will only be worth saving when all supporters can contribute in a welcoming democratic environment where threats and intimidation are outlawed. All those that have been a part of or supported this type of behaviour either need to renounce it or leave the club. Sadly, either by ignorance or design, you are standing on the wrong side of the line.

Are you telling me that a current board member has a twenty year old spent conviction? this needs bringing to everyones attention in the most sly and underhand manner, preferably by a current board member. Ideally on the members forum on a thread that has no relevance to the information offered.
I believe that adrian 'lurch' seddon has no legitimacy, despite being voted in twice via two successive elections in the same year. Democracy my arse.

All those that have been a part of or supported this type of behaviour either need to renounce it or leave the club. Sadly, either by ignorance or design, you are standing on the wrong side of the line. The first poster on this thread thought it was 'good news' that a candidate was no longer standing as a result of intimidation. I agree such intimidation should be outlawed The notion that attendances and income are down simply because of perceived abuse and intimidation is fanciful to say the least. The complete loss of trust in the previous regime led to standing orders being cancelled, season tickets not being renewed etc. Some will have moved on and not bothered to come back even with the change in regime, some will be waiting for the new regime to build trust and some will have got back on board (as is evident from the significant recent upturn in standing orders). You're all for democracy yet you're happy to undermine a Board member who put himself up for re-election to seek a new mandate. The mind boggles. We're never going to agree on this so we may as well stop arguing. PS - Admin, I've just noticed your moderating and read your 'Play Nicely' thread. "Don't say anything nasty (however true it may be) about my friends but say what you like about that other mob." I think people who aren't your friends are probably protected by libel law so perhaps try some impartial moderating?
