Mr M, just look at the response to a member asking questions on the official forum. Every single poster has turned on him.

Of course, we all know every good forum bans people for the moment they disagree with a post, right?
Thank heavens this place remains a place of virtue, transparency, free speech, debate and sense! Phew!

Haha I don't remember anyone complaining when most of you didn't agree with me??? Didn't hear any complaints of that's why more people didn't post on here? And I wouldn't have expected them to, Perhaps bullying and harassment only works one way? Now the subjects been brought up though, seeing as everyone's so keen on transparency over here, and rightly so, as a quick summary <NAME REMOVED by Admin> a self confessed member of the old guard - he's complaining about the "new people" and saying he wants rid of the CEO and 90% of the board (yes I'm curious which one he's happy with!) anyway he spotted a perceived issue of a women's game not being publicised this weekend, but rather than bring it up as a constructive criticism before the date instead he chose to wait until after the game and bring it up as a point scoring opportunity, however it turns out the game wasn't publicised on purpose as it was meant to be a behind close doors friendly. This was <NAME REMOVED by Admin> first forum post as a volunteer for the last two years he was told he was not allowed to post, again this hasn't been a policy so people are curious about this. It turns out that he hasn't been paid but had recieved expenses for travel and tips, however the volunteer travel expenses haven't been documented anywhere as far as anyone's aware, this leads to the question should the policy be laid down? Fair and consistent to all volunteers? And above all transparent? After all it was "our" money going out of the club. <NAME REMOVED by Admin> goes on to complain about the new board/CEO/sales person due to the lack of commercial bookings or advertising around the ground, which seems particularly strange as there's an obvious improvement in both aspects.

Perhaps because it was a fairly rubbish attempt by an individual to turn a reasonable question by another member into a tirade against the Board and CEO. At 12.07 AM on Monday, <NAME REMOVED by Admin> was saying "if it it was true" that the women had a friendly then it was a class piece of marketing by the club. At 8.14 PM he said "I knew about the game early on in the week". Make your mind up, <NAME REMOVED by Admin>. Perhaps he'd get a better response if he just outlined whatever it was that made him quit volunteering and has made him so aggrieved (presumably because the Board decided the club can't support his mate, the full time bar manager who I assume may have had very little to do for most of his working week). I assume <NAME REMOVED by Admin> was also the author of these words of wisdom (http://fcumfans.freeforums.net/thread/74/time-truths) as the language and points raised are uncannily similar.

Doesn't appear to be as much pitch side advertising as last season. If you enter the ground at the Lightbowne road turnstile there is a huge stack of redundant advertising boards in the empty bay in front of the undeveloped section of the Main stand. Can only imagine they are businesses who chose not to renew this season.

Looking at the reports a number of businesses chose not to renew due to the poor service they got, also some boards were never actually paid for.

I believe at the last GM a question was asked re the cost of the person brought in to push advertising etc against the income he has brought in. This couldn't be answered, but would be made available at a later date. Not to my knowledge so far!

Yes you got me, "my mate" <NAME REMOVED by Admin>, I didn't know until I met him when building the ground (for which no expenses were paid!). I quit volunteering for many reasons, the respect for the way people are treated being one, would it not have made sense to ask me to carry on volunteering knowing the place like the back of my hand for 2 years instead of employing a cellar person? Plus others. As for the slagging I got for taking expenses (when I did eventually accept them), £5.95 travel per day, some weeks 40 hours, work out the maths on the living wage, I think I've saved the club money!!!! <NAME REMOVED by Admin> regularly worked in excess of his 37.5 hours contract as do or did many others of the contracted staff. I tried to raise that point because it was lost income for the club, WELL HERE'S ONE FOR YOU!!!!!! Since we signed the new deal with Holts we've been paying more for our stock from them, no price increase, MORE LOST INCOME

Indeed, most of the employees 'made redundant' by the CEO worked far and above their contracted hours. How will they be replaced? With volunteers? I don't think so! Agency staff? At what cost? Mates of the CEO? More than likely as the two we have at the moment are friends of his! All in the name of transparency.
